Reshaping the Emirate’s gold, jewellery, diamond and commodities trade has been Tawfique
Abdullah’s passion

No architect can realize his plans or design without the dedicated services of the right engineer. In realizing Dubai’s Vision 2002, the emirate has been blessed with a set of dedicated engineers, and Tawfique Abdullah is one of them.

“This is the first organization in the world that I know of that has been created to bring three major sectors of trade under one roof-gold, diamonds and commodities. The last one includes virtually everything from rice, salt and sugar to all other commodities, “ said Tawfique Abdullah, who represents the fourth generation in his family’s gold business.

Four refineries are being set up at the DMCC, to transform Dubai into a diamond hub for the region. The DMCC is constructing Almas Tower that will be the centre of the region’s diamond trade.

“For the first time Dubai’s gold trade will be showcased in the No.1 trade show for gold and jewellery in the world. Our most important initiative in showcasing Dubai to the world’s diamond jewellery trade will be the third annual meeting of the World Diamond Council which takes place this month, which we are hosting. The top 100 executives belonging to the global diamond trade will be addressing key issues involving the sector’s growth and development.

This is the first time such a meeting is being held in the Middle East, and will help Dubai to attract the who’s who’ in the global business” said Tawfique Abdullah.
