Innovative products will make the digital home a reality. Smart home technology will take this region by storm if Intel Corp has its way. The company recently launched new products that demonstrate how new capabilities will bring Middle East users a step closer to the reality of the digital home.

As part of its global launch, the company held a demonstration hosted by Emaar in its Street of Dreams. At the heart of the technology is digital convergence into just one or two key units that will drive the home of the future.

“Intel innovation is taking the PC through a significant evolution that opens up a broader set of new consumer uses,” said Sam Al Schamma, GCC general manager. These technologies are helping to create a new kind of PC, an all-in-one ‘hi-fi’ device with high-fidelity sound and wireless connectivity.

“This evolution will help our users in the Middle East to better enjoy digital music, photos, videos and games on PCs and other devices in and around the home.

At the same time, the technologies we’re introducing for the PC platform will help drive new uses that boost office productivity, such as simultaneously using multiple monitors with just one PC to work on and track several projects.”

In addition to making the PC experience more entertaining and productive, these technologies pave the way for such emerging capabilities as High Definition (HD) video, 7.1-surround sound and robust file protection for office and home users.
