The Skidmore, Owings and Merrill designed Burj Dubai tower has just surpassed the height of the Sears Tower, also designed by SOM and the tallest building in the US at 1,450 feet. The Burj Dubai is due to exceed the height of the world's tallest building, the Taipei 101, in July.
